Day Trips from Downtown Sarasota: Busch Gardens

18 Apr

Looking for a great day trip from Sarasota, Florida?  Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is the ultimate family adventure park offering an array of fascinating attractions based on exotic encounters with the African continent.  A unique blend of thrilling rides, one of the country’s premier zoos featuring more than 2,000 animals, live shows, restaurants, shops and games, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay provides unrivaled excitement for guests of every age.

The latest addition to Busch Gardens is a six-week old baby cheetah!  In fact, the Tampa Bay theme park is currently running a contest to name this adorable little friend.

Be one of the lucky spectators to see Busch Garden's latest edition - the baby cheetah.

On Saturday, April 16th the baby cheetah and his puppy companion made their debut at Jambo Junction, just across from the Nairobi Train Station.  Guests can now catch a glimpse of the duo at various times during the day.

Just a month after Busch Gardens took in a cheetah cub whose mother wasn’t caring for it, the park’s animal care team has identified the perfect four-legged friend for the 8-week-old cat: a 16-week old female yellow labrador puppy.

The two were introduced recently and have been spending supervised play times together each day. Eventually, the pair will live together and even travel together, helping the park’s education team teaching the public about the plight of cheetahs in the wild and Busch Gardens’ conservation efforts.

Busch Gardens offers a full-day of fun to both animal lovers and thrill-seekers alike.  Spring 2011, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will introduce a new breed of speed that invites guests to celebrate the spirit of the cheetah. This new generation of thrills emerges from the crossroads where up-close animal encounters and awe inspiring rides come together.

According to a press release provided last week by Busch Gardens, Busch Gardens began testing Cheetah Hunt this weekend, the start of a long process where they will begin testing each launch zone fully before moving on to the next.
