18 Feb

Trace Ellington is an accomplished singer and musician.

If you enjoy smooth jazz and soulful music, then you have certainly enjoyed the latest works of Trace Ellington.  Part of the Duke Ellington dynasty of talent, Trace recently was sighted at Downtown Sarasota’s Hotel Ranola, where he shot segments of his video for “If Blue Were Green,” from the Let Love In album.

As you may remember, Duke Ellington was an American pianist who was known as “the greatest jazz composer and bandleader.” One of the originators of big-band jazz, Duke Ellington led his band for more than half a century, composed thousands of scores, and created one of the most distinctive ensemble sounds in all of Western music.

Carrying on the tradition, Trace is an artist who is writing and creating the type of music that is capturing the attention of audiences everywhere.  As a branch of the Ellington family tree, Trace is blessed with a diverse cultural heritage that serves as a strong foundation for his music.  His multi-talents as a singer and songwriter and producer only increases his unique collections.  Moreover Trace’s master stage presence is supported by his mastery of various instruments including keyboard drum guitar and bass.  In 1988, Trace started his own record label; Mood Indigo Records (now Mood Indigo Recordings Inc.).

Trace was seen spotted last weekend in Downtown Sarasota, patronizing “the Ranola” as a return guest.  Rumor has it he was visiting the area on a working vacation.

Check out Trace’s video here.  If you’ve ever stayed at the Hotel Ranola, you’ll recognize the master bedroom and the living room of one of the suites made it in the final cut.
